What is Si Sen Formula?

The Si Sen Formula is a plant-based food recipe specially formulated to provide good nutrition for children. Widely used by Asian parents and passed down through generations, it consists of four popular ingredients: Chinese Yam, Lotus Seeds, Euryale Seeds, and Poria. These ingredients are rich in natural vitamins and minerals, which help strengthen a baby’s digestive functions, enabling better absorption of nutrients for a strong immune system. Packed with wholesome goodness, this winning weaning formula offers a nutritious start for infants' first food and includes the following ingredients:

Chinese Yam for better absorption of nutrients

Chinese Yam (also known as Shan Yao) contains a host of key nutrients like iron, calcium, phosphorus with its primary role of strengthening and invigorate. It also contains nutrient known as saponins for boosting your baby’s digestive system and resistance to illness. Saponins increase the body’s ability to absorb calcium and silicon, both of which are required for optimum digestion. On its own, Chinese yam also has a mildly sweet taste that can be very comforting for your child.

Lotus Seed for Memory and Concentration

In addition to enhancing digestion and appetite, Lotus seed contains iron, protein, magnesium and niacin. Niacin, a form of Vitamin B3, is an essential nutrient for the proper functioning of the brain, as well as improving memory and concentration. It is also involved in converting carbohydrates, fats and protein into energy for cell functions. It is thus important in regulating metabolism and growth.

Euryale seed Fuel Source for the brain

Also known as Fox Seed, is rich in macro and micronutrients, such as carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, starch, riboflavin, calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamin B1, B2, niacin and other trace elements, which is an essential necessity for the child healthy growth and development. Also contains complex carbohydrates that are the primary fuel source for the brain, this 'slow-releasing' carbohydrates provides the child with the mental food he needs as he plays and learns new skills. It works amazingly well when paired with Chinese yam to give children the health boost they need in their important early years.

Poria boosts immune system

Digestion

When your child is born, the digestive system (spleen and stomach) is weak and requires time to develop and strengthen. In the early months, your child would not have sufficient enzymes to digest food properly, or the right antibodies that fight off pathogens. A root to a strong body needs a good digestive system to absorb the nutrients that are taken. And this is why your child needs to build up his digestive system to facilitate the absorption of the food.

Immunity

Just like your child’s digestive system, the complex immune system would take some time to develop and be strong enough to fight off infections. Fortunately, your own antibodies, which have been passed down to your little one during pregnancy, stick around for a few months to offer your child the protection needed while the body builds its own defence mechanisms. To help children continue building up their own defences, they have to have a strong digestive system to absorb the food and strengthen immunity.

Brain and Mental Health

Growing up in a world that prizes competence and mental acuity both in academics and non-academic activities, children need a good head start with proper nutrition to boost their mental performance. And a good start needs a strong digestive system to absorb the nutrients that we have provided our child with.
